Can you watch over me?
When the sun
Peeks through the darkness
Starting a new day
Can you watch over me?
When the sun shines bright
Over the water
On the river down below
Can you watch over me?
I look down at the river
Watching the tide go out
Feeling like the shore
As the water washes away the sand
I feel the energy being washed away from me
To fight this cancer they say I have
Like the tide taking over the shore
You are there taking me in your arms
Holding me
Giving me all your strength
So I can fight back
Like the waves crashing against the rocks
The sun is now a brilliant shade of red
Bright and full of life
Holding onto the edge of the river
Even with the beginning of the darkness
There is such beauty
Showing us that tomorrow is a new day
Full of strength
For me and you

Mommy
What should I do now?
You’re no longer with me
I feel so lost without you.
As I lay down here beside you
I listen for your wisdom
I listen deep into your soul.
Listen, my dearest child
When the wind blows deep into the trees
That is me talking to you
When you see the sun shinning
Through the clouds
This is me looking over you
When the rain comes down
This only but my tears missing you
Loving you, looking over you
Now it is ok to cry
But just remember this
I will always be with you
Deep in your heart

Broken Wing
Once in a life time
Here on earth
An angel appears to us
To help us
Feel better
Inspire us
And give us hope
Now, this very angel
Has a broken wing
Needs someone to
Hold her hand
Help her feel better
Inspire her
And give her hope.
So with every smile
From all the people
Whose lives you have touched
The hope
And the inspiration
The smiles you brought
To all the care
You gave
Is but
One step
One step to
Help make
You stronger
In will
In hope
And most of all
To give you
A Mended Wing.

This poem is about your loved one not being able to remember you any more, for what ever reason, weather its brain cancer or dementia.
Memories
So many memories
Go though my mind
Wishing you could
Share them with me now
I feel lost with out
Sharing our memories
With you
If only I know
What to say
What to do
If only the memories
We make today
Will last until tomorrow
I look at you
You look so happy
Just me being here
With you
This is a new memory
Every day for you
And new life time of
Memories for me

This poem is written in the cancer patient's point of view.
Walk in my shoes
Take a walk in my shoes
They might seem too tight
Making it hard to walk
Putting you in a lot of pain
The pain that you feel
Is the same pain that I have.
Take a walk in my shoes
I do different treatments
Making the shoes feel a little bit better
Still feeling tired, from the pain
And the treatments that I got.
Take a walk in my shoes
Some days it seems
That I have walked
Down a dead-end road
This is when I turn to you.
Now that you know
What I have been through
Don’t feel bad for me
Just love me
Now, we both have walked
Down the long road
Both of our shoes feel better
Looking into the sunrise
Of a brand new day.

poem for Freda
Dedicated to Freda B. Wright
July 20, 1956-April 14, 2008
How do I say good-bye
How can you say
Good-bye to a friend?
You try to be brave
For her family
You fight back the tears
But all you want to do
Is scream,
How is this fair!
How can I tell you thanks
Thanks for being my friend
My co-worker
A nurse to all
Whom you have blessed.
I can't say good-bye
For you will always
Be in my memories
And with that you will
Live on!

The sun has set
The sun has set a brilliant red
Over the river below
Each night we meet
Like a mother
You would look over all of us
We all needed someone like you
Someone to look over us
To make us laugh
Someone to remind us that
When the sun peeked over the river’s edge
We needed to leave early to beat the rush
Your smile was contagious
To not only your co-workers
But also to your patients
Your great knowledge about your patients
You loved to share
Always willing to give a helping hand
Giving that extra touch
To make a difference
In everyone that you touched
Now my dear friend
The sun has now set one last time
In our hearts
We can still hear your wisdom
See your smile
Hear your laugh
To brighten our night like no one else.
